Jacques BONJAWO

Jacques Bonjawo is a renowned Cameroonian scientist, author, and entrepreneur known for his expertise in the field of technology and his dedication to digital development in Africa. Having held important positions at Microsoft headquarters, he has made significant contributions to the advancement of the technology industry. As a pioneer in telemedicine and tele-education in Africa, he founded Genesis Telecare, a company that provides telehealth services to rural populations in Cameroon. Additionally, he played a crucial role in the establishment of the African Virtual University, where he served as the first president.

As a prolific author, he has published several books highlighting the application of information and communication technologies (ICT) for sustainable development in Africa, including “Internet, une Chance pour l’Afrique” (Internet, a Chance for Africa), “Mes Années dans la Silicon Valley” (My Years in Silicon Valley), and “Intelligence artificielle – Une vision pour l’Afrique” (Artificial Intelligence – A Vision for Africa). His remarkable work has earned him numerous awards and distinctions, such as the TIGA Award presented by the United Nations and the Turgot Prize.
